Sam Rothera is a versatile composer, orchestrator, and multi-instrumentalist based in the South of England, working across film, television, theatre, and game.

​

Recent highlights include Sam's score for the short animation All Hail The Duck King, which earned a nomination for Best Score in a Short Animated Film at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2025. The film was also nominated for Best Original Score in a Short Film at the International Sound and Film Music Festival 2025, alongside two other films he composed for, Dreigiau Cymreig Patagonia (The Welsh Dragons of Patagonia) and Sunset On Pluto. Sam was selected as a Composer Rising Star finalist at the 2025 Music+Sound Awards.

Sam graduated in 2025 with a Master's in Composing from the prestigious National Film and Television School and holds ATCL performance diplomas in both saxophone and piano.
